What's New?
19 July 2008:
News Release from the Kate Love Simpson Library:
Four genealogy resources have disappeared from the genealogy/local history room in 2008. At a meeting held July 17, 2008, the Kate Love Simpson Library Board adopted the following research policy:
A security camera will be installed in the genealogy/local history room. The door to the genealogy room will be locked at all times.
Researchers using the room will be required to:
-
Sign in
-
leave their driver's license, or another form of photo identification, which will be kept in the library's cash register for safe keeping
-
return to the circulation desk to retrieve their identification, and sign out
Researchers may be subject to search, if carrying bags, packages, and/or other materials.
Kate Love Simpson Library Board and staff would like to thank researchers for their cooperation.
The Morgan County Chapter OGS would like to take this opportunity to thank the KLS Board and staff for addressing this issue. We especially thank the staff, who will be adding more work to their already full day. We appreciate you all!
We apologize to the researchers for making their research more difficult. It is a shame that a few do something that makes these rules necessary for all!
